National libraries are among the largest in their respective countries, if not the largest. In fact, they are some of the largest in the entire world. It is easy to see why; their goal is to represent an entire country and its known history. The importance and sheer magnitude of this objective demands immense size and space. In some cases, the national libraries even have multiple buildings in which to store their materials. National libraries go to great lengths to collaborate with other libraries and different entities if need be. Their collections are incredibly extensive. Their scope is broad, and their work vital in preserving the heritage of their nations. Each national library faces unique challenges, but each one is fully staffed with professionals who meet these challenges.
